Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman, investor and speaker. She is also a consultant, speaker writer, syndicated columnist, TV personality, author and author. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran left the company within a short time. Corcoran was one of the original Shark Tank investors. She was a regular on every episode of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February, 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 in Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was the second of 10 kids born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class located in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mother and was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. moved from job to job during Corcoran's early years. Her family was sometimes dependent on food deliveries from the local grocer who would deliver free food. Corcoran remembers her father, a man who sometimes drank excessively, and treated her mother with disrespect and condescendingly, especially after he'd had a few drinks. Corcoran was a struggling pupil throughout her schooling. She later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran attended an Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran was fluent in several courses during her freshman year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
